Head In The Sand

Exhibited at The Minories as part of the 'Beyond plastics' exhibition, 142 Felixstowe as part of the micro plastics exhibition, art on the prom in Felixstowe.

Composition made up of natural resources such as stones and shells alongside rubbish found on the beach and it was coated in layers of resin with mica pigments. Glistening, iridescent sheens, it's like looking into a rockpool.

The focal point is the head, which is composed of gold painted stones and the piece hopes to challenge the viewer by acknowledging the impact that humans are having upon the environment, specifically the shoreline and the oceans.
